A TWO-YEAR-OLD boy was attacked by a rottweiler in a park in St Osyth.

The large, brown r ottweiler, which was on a lead, approached the boy and bit him on the back, leaving three teeth marks.

The incident happened at Cowley Park, The Bury, between 2pm and 2.10pm on Sunday.

Police, who are now trying to trace the owner of the dog, said the bite did not break the skin and the boy was not taken to hospital.

Insp Paul Fieldsend said: “There were lots of people on the field and it was the middle of the day, so we’re sure someone must have seen something.

“We’d appeal for anyone with information to come forward.”

The dog’s owner is described as a white woman in her fifties and is about 5ft 4ins.

She was wearing a pink T-shirt, jeans and wedge shoes.

She is believed to live in the St Osyth area.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call PC Carrie-Ann Tattersall on 0300 3334444.
