THERE is a wealth of local musical talent being lined up at River Lodge, in Colchester, in the next few weeks.

It plays host to Next of Kin this Friday, made up of brothers Nathan, Mark and Keiron Bass, who, as well as playing a mixture of Indie and pop covers, play original music.

The following week Jazmine Ava returns with her popular songwriter evenings, this time featuring Jonas Graile, Kev Garner and Laura Younger.

July 17 will see two of the town’s more exciting rock prospects in the shape of Mr Happy Chainsaw, plus Manic Minor taking to the stage, and on July 24 local indie outfit Cushti will be appearing.

Rounding off the month, on July 31, will be an opportunity to see one of the area’s most sought after bands, New Town Kings, who will be performing with Luv Dump with more acts to be confirmed.

Next month, highlights include the Krak, who have just played Glastonbury, on August 14; Wellerman, a five-piece tribute band to Paul Weller whose members hail from in and around Essex and London, on August 21; and the raw smoky vocals and driving beats of Hobo Chang on August 28.
