ENGLAND were knocked out of the World Twenty20 tonight as the West Indies successfully chased down a revised target of 80 at The Brit Oval.
Essex batsman Ravi Bopara top-scored for England. He opened the batting and put on 55 before he was out lbw off Chris Gayle's bowling.
Bopara's Essex team-mate James Foster made 13 before he was caught by Kieron Pollard off Sulieman Benn as England finished on 161-6 from their 20 overs.
Foster caught Andre Fletcher off James Anderson to leave the Windies on 6-1 after they had been set a target of 80 from nine overs under the Duckworth/Lewis method due to rain.
But the Windies hit 82-5 with four balls remaining to secure a place in the semi-finals.
