TIES between a town near Colchester and friends in the USA have been strengthened by a school exchange.
The fourth exchange between the Colne Community School and College, in Brightlingsea, and Valdosta Middle School, in Georgia, has taken place.
Visiting students enjoyed a host of activities and learnt about the culture and history of the borough, including a tour of Colchester Town Hall by Mayor Henry Spyvee.
Teacher and organiser Jane Caryer said students, staff, host families and the wider community had enjoyed a “fantastic” experience and thanked local businesses for their support.
Valdosta student Chaker Farea said: “It is an unbelievable experience. I’ll remember it for the rest of my life. I’ve made friends forever.”
