GARAGES and table tops are standing ready for this year’s Brantham sale.

The sixth annual sale is in memory of 19-year-old Carla Dawson who lived in the village and died of a rare form of bone cancer in 2003.

A total of 40 garages have ben booked ready for the event on June 20, and there are only a few spaces left for table tops in the village hall.

Running from 9.30am until 4.30pm, there will be maps available from most of the garages to show where else in the village you might find a bargain.

The Women’s Institute will also provide refreshments in the hall.

Yvonne Amos, one of the organisers of the event, said she was looking forward to the day and hoping it would be a great success.

“We have all got a good amount of stuff that has been donated – I would like to thank everybody for their donations.”

Money raised will go to the Carla Dawson Tribute Fund at St Elizabeth Hospice, where she was cared for before her death, and the Arthritis Research Campaign.

There is still time to take part, organisers ask for a minimum donation of £5 per garage or table booked. For more information, call Yvonne Amoss on 01206 392296 or Ronnie Dawson 01206 395557.
