THOSE pining for some Colchester Operatic action following their successful January production of Fiddler on the Roof, need look no further than the troupe’s summer fundraising concerts.

After last year’s concert entitled Make ’Em Laugh, Make ’Em Cry, which included songs from such shows as Singin’ In The Rain, Summer Holiday and Phantom of the Opera, this year’s offerings will be jam-packed with numbers from the classic American songbook.

Called Not Just Broadway Baby, as well as the well-known faces of the main operatic society, members of the junior section, CO2, are also taking part in the shows.

It takes place at the Colchester Garrison Officers’ Club tonight and tomorrow at 7.30pm and on Saturday, at Holmwood House School in Lexden, Colchester, at 7.30pm.

Tickets for the concerts are £8, available on 01206 383172, with proceeds going to Help for Heroes, the Adam Rogers Trust and St Helena Hospice.

The performing group will be doing it all again next month, at Castle House in Dedham and in the open air.

Audience members are invited to bring drinks and a picnic. Tickets are priced at £10, available from the same number.

The concert takes place on July 4 with gates to Castle House opening at 6pm and the performance starting at 7.30pm.
