A FARMERS’ market is being launched in a bid to prevent Clacton becoming a ghost town.
Shopkeepers hope the move will breath new life into the once bustling Jackson Road which has seen a string of businesses close in recent years.
Sally Barnard and Valerie Cheek, of the Gift Box, have organised tomorrow’s market.
Mrs Bernard said: “A lot of stores have shut which is quite sad. If people don’t use the shops it could become a ghost town.”
It will run from 10am-2pm and could become a monthly event if it proves popular.
