I would like to publicly thank Chris Nicoll of F&C Reit, owners of the Cowdray Centre site, Colchester Tall, solid boarding installed in the lane between Asda and The Range – to protect the site from vandals – was causing people to avoid this popular shortcut. Graffiti added to this no-go feeling.
F&C Reit were contacted by Colchester Cycling Campaign and quickly agreed to replace the boarding with a strong see-through fence which was installed last week.
Path users can now be seen along the length of the lane and the problem of a dangerous blind corner has been solved. Well done!
