TWO prostate cancer support groups will be holding a joint meeting next week.
North East Essex Prostate Cancer Support Group will be hosting members from the Southend Prostate Support Group on Wednesday.
It will be held from 7pm to 9pm in the training and development centre at Essex County Hospital, in Lexden Road, Colchester.
Maurice Newbolt, secretary of the north-east Essex group, said: “This will give us the opportunity to meet and discuss with another support group how they operate and benefit from their meetings, so a good attendance would be an advantage.”
The meetings are informal and open to patients, their partners and carers, and are usually held on the first Wednesday of every month. Earlier this month, outgoing Harwich mayoress, Muriel Rutson, presented the group with a donation of £225 which was raised during her husband David’s time as mayor.
