STUDENTS turned up in style to celebrate the end of their school days.

Year 11 pupils at Stanway School enjoyed their prom ahead of GCSE exams.

A large crowd turned up to see students arrive in their finery in a range of unusual vehicles.

Assistant headteacher Jenny Morgan said: “It was very successful and enjoyable.

“The prom is an event for the whole school community and always generates a lot of buzz in Stanway. We had a big crowd coming up to watch with younger children looking forward to their turn and former students seeing if they had been outdone.

“One group of lads whizzed in on little scooters, and we had students in vintage buses, two horse-drawn carriages and all the usual stretch limousines.

“Every year we seem to get more and more outlandish vehicles.” Throughout the evening, students enjoyed a buffet, live music and a disco.
