A THORPE-based charity might have to put its next mercy misssion on hold because of financial problems.
Benin Christian Support had hoped to go on another trip to Africa next month, but the falling global exchange rate has put the plan in jeopardy.
Volunteers are still trying to raise cash to help orphans in the charity’s House of Hope.
Three of the five girls who lost their mother to breast cancer have now been sponsored so they may go into school. Other orphans have been helped with payment for medical treatment, but the falling exchange rate means even more money is still needed.
The charity is still getting supplies to Benin. Seventeen cases of goods, including clothes, blankets, toys, flip-flops, toiletries and household items have been sent out.
Anyone who wants to make a donation of money or goods should call treasurer Maureen Carter, on 01255 862618.
