A 36-year-old is wanted by police in connection with offences of grievous bodily harm and damage.
Police in Braintree are seeking the public's help to trace Timothy Steward in connection with offences committed on July 4, 2006.
The offences relate to a party in Hay Lane, Braintree, on Independence Day, in which a 33-year-old man suffered facial injuries that required numerous stitches.
Damage was also caused to a Vauxhall Corsa.
Steward was arrested and released on bail, but failed to appear.
He is thought to have fled the country, but police believe that he has now returned and may well be in the Braintree area, where he has family ties.
Anyone who can help police find Steward is asked to contact police at Braintree on 0300 333 4444, where the officer dealing is DC Susie Pink, or to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
