RESIDENTS claim a controversial internet mapping camera car has invaded the privacy of their quiet village.
Google’s Street View camera was spotted filming in Great Holland on Tuesday.
The imagery enables Google Maps users to zoom in on a location and gives a 360-degree view of the area at street level.
In April, the Information Commissioner’s Office said the controversial website does not breach the Data Protection Act.
Alan Large, chairman of Great Holland Residents’ Association, said villagers are unhappy with pictures being taken of their homes.
He said: “Google’s car was on the prowl in Great Holland. The car came into Church Lane and we managed to catch the guy who was driving it.
“He said the car and the machine does all the work and he doesn’t choose where to go.”
The commissioner’s office ruled that face and licence plate-blurring was sufficient to ensure privacy was maintained.
