MODEL-turned-actor Scott Maslen is sure to get some pulses racing when he appears at Escape Nightclub tomorrow.

The soap star, who played Phil Hunter in long-running cop show The Bill, is currently creating waves in EastEnders as Jack Branning.

And he will be doing just that when he appears at the Copford nightclub’s The Mighty Bash night.

London born and bred, Scott, 37, has enjoyed an eventful career so far. He joined the Royal Marines at the age of 16, but had to leave after he broke his foot two years later.

Drawn by the promise of America, Scott travelled to Miami where he was spotted by photographer Bruce Weber, which launched his modelling career. Five years of exotic locations and living a glamorous life came to an end when actor Bill Paxton advised him to move into acting.

Taking the advice, Scott studied acting at the Guildhall for three years with friend and actor Orlando Bloom, missing out on the part of Nick Moran in Guy Ritchie gangster flick Snatch because he was still studying.

But that hasn’t done him any harm and since leaving drama school, Scott’s acting career has taken off.

Landing a role in successful television series Lock, Stock... in 2000, he also played the live action role of Claude Speed in the promotional video for the opening sequence of computer game Grand Theft Auto 2. A few more television roles later and he joined The Bill in 2002 as dodgy cop DS Phil Hunter.

Playing another policeman, his role in EastEnders as Jack Branning has sent shockwaves through the square and among soaps fans, who nominated him for the sexiest male title at the British Soap Awards 2008.

He narrowly missed out to Corrie’s Rob James-Collier, but revellers at Escape may beg to differ when he makes his personal appearance tomorrow night.

Married to Estelle Rubio and father to seven-year-old Zak, Scott is well and truly settled, but party goers at Escape’s The Mighty Bash are sure to show him a good time.

With commercial dance anthems and R’n’B, The Mighty Bash runs from 9pm until 3am. Admission is £5 or £10 with six drinks. For more information, visit www.escape-nightclub.com
