A FORMER parish clerk and her son face jail for a £30,000 fraud.
Angela Draper wrote cheques on Elmstead Market Parish Council’s bank account and got her son to cash them.
She admitted a total of 72 offences when she appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court and was told to expect a prison sentence.
Her 27-year-old son also admitted 72 matters and a judge told him to expect jail, too.
Draper, of Old School Lane, Elmstead Market, admitted five charges of fraud and four of forgery and asked for 63 similar matters to be considered.
Her son Owen Draper, of Queen Mary Avenue, Shrub End, Colchester, admitted five fraud charges and four of obtaining property by deception. He asked for 63 similar matters to be considered. He denied a charge of obtaining property by deception and his plea was accepted by the prosecution.
