MEMBERS of a fledgling slimming group have lost an incredible 100 stones between them.

Lynda Craig, who runs Earls Colne Slimming World, said there were several ingredients to the group’s successful weight-loss.

The mother-of-two, who fought her own battle against the biscuits, said her members inspired each other, worked as a team and followed a balanced diet, which also allowed a little of what you fancy.

Mrs Craig, of Buxton Road, Coggeshall, said: “Since opening, our group has lost weight which is the equivalent of 11 people.

“There’s definitely a sense of team spirit. They inspire each other to lose weight.

“It’s lovely to see people lose the weight and change and grow more confident.”

The group has had between 25 and more than 30 members since Mrs Craig set it up in January, this year.

But, the 51-year-old remembers when she was a size 24, weighing more than 15 stone and struggling to lose weight.

Mrs Craig, 5 ft 2ins, said several events led to her “wake-up call” to lose weight, including the time when her wedding ring had to be cut off.
