A CHARITY which helps boost the spirits of women with cancer has received a donation of £1,000.
The money will mean Look Good Feel Better can help more women who are receiving chemo or radiotherapy.
Hairdresser Karen Allen used her 40th birthday present from her husband – a tandem skydive – and was sponsored by her clients at High Street Barber Shop in Halstead.
The charity provides beauty products from all the best companies and holds workshops to show the women how to use them.
Mrs Allen chose the charity after her best friend Louise Strudwick attended one of their workshops while undergoing chemotherapy.
Although bad weather has so far prevented her from doing the jump, she is raring to go.
She said: “The jump has been cancelled twice, which is frustrating, although I have now got a new date.
“I already had the skydive as a 40th birthday present from my husband and I’m really pleased with all the money I’ve raised.”
