HOSPITAL food is set to be revolutionised.
Clacton District Hospital is trialing two systems in a bid to boost quality and choice.
The first will see a new type of microwave meal that will increase tastiness and nutrition.
Other advantages are that patients will be able to request a meal when they want and the microwavable plate will cut down on washing up.
The second new scheme is a mobile catering system in the cafeteria.
David Cohen, assistant director of community services at NHS North East Essex, described them as some of the most advanced catering systems in the country.
