TEENAGER Glen Dobbs was already a high-scorer on the sports field.

Now the keen rugby and cricket player has notched up top marks in the classroom too.

Glen, 16, not only gained an impressive 11 A*s and one A in his GCSEs, but has since learnt he was among the best candidates in the country in three subject areas.

The Colchester Royal Grammar School student came in the top ten out of more than 47,000 in French, and in the top ten out of 19,484 in German.

He has now received a letter from examiners to congratulate him for coming in the top ten in mathematics out of 71,000 candidates across the UK.

Glen, of Eastcliff Avenue, Clacton, said he had hoped to do well but never expected to get such high marks.
