REASSURANCE has been given that a major event in the Tendring calendar will be back and even better next year.
And another promise has been made that three new toilet blocks will be given to Dovercourt – despite a report that suggests Tendring Council might not have enough cash for both schemes.
Les Double, regeneration portfolio holder for Tendring Council, said it does have enough cash despite findings from an initial financial forecast last week.
The forecast, which is a forerunner to the annual budget, described how only one-fifth of a £5.5 million spending wish list would be likely to go ahead in 2009/10.
Among the casualties were the £350,000 earmarked by Tendring Council for new toilets in Dovercourt, and a £10,000 grant to revive the Tour de Tendring, which started in Harwich.
