A group of adults with learning disabilities have been making their own terrifying terracotta treasures.
Inspired by the Guardians to the King exhibition at Colchester Castle, the group has created Chinese figures made from recycled materials at the Level Best Art Cafe in Culver Street East in the town.
Their creations were put on display in the community case at Colchester’s Hollytrees Museum.
The cafe, part of the Dacon Trust, offers skills training and work experience activities for adults with learning disabilities and special needs.
Cafe manager Sally English said: “Whilst developing their work skills, trainees are exploring their creativity and rapidly becoming a part of a new and exciting culture in Colchester.
“By having access to opportunities, the community and customers, trainees realise their talents and run their own project.”
“The basis of all Level Best art work is recycling, local happenings and food.”
