As a Clacton group of keep-fitters shed the pounds and ounces over the summer it brought in cash to help breast cancer sufferers.
The Active for Life group staged a sponsored slim after three of its women developed breast cancer within a few months.
One of the three, Pauline Edmonds, organised the fundraising event and on Friday she handed over £4,145.38 to Essex County Hospital’s breast cancer unit to help buy a digital mammography machine.
