Coastal cabbies are being urged not to break rules by parking on double yellow lines outside a supermarket in Clacton.
John Brigden, chairman of the Morrisson Taxi Rank Association, claims the three cab spaces outside the Waterglade Retail Park in Old Road are not sufficient.
Essex County Council told drivers it is looking at the rank with the aim of expanding it next summer to eight spaces.
The association says it wants a temporary parking agreement to stop cabbies being fined when they park on double yellow lines next to the rank.
