A town centre fountain has been shut down after concern was rai-sed over its safety, the Gazette can reveal.
While Clacton’s fountain has already gone through water quality tests, council chiefs have decided to switch off the fountain pending further investigation.
Tendring Council took the step of turning off the system after the design and operation of the water treatment process was questioned.
It is now in discussions with the company which installed the fountain – Invent Water.
