A grieving couple have appealed for information about the killers of their daughter and grandson.

The appeal comes on the tenth anniversary of the death of Jean and Anthony Trigg.

They died after a fire was started deliberately at a house in Church Crescent on July 27, 1998.

The murders remain unsolved.

Les and Kathleen Trigg, Jean’s dad and mum, have been back to the town to renew the appeal for information.

The couple, wearing T-shirts with a picture of Anthony and the words “Help us find Anthony and his mum’s killers”, held a press conference at Clacton police station yesterday.

Mr Trigg, 65, of Bolton, Lancashire, said: “We don’t have Christmas, we don’t have birthdays, we don’t have anyone to celebrate with.

“We are grieving slowly.

“It is hard to think the person or persons who did it are still walking the street while we are suffering.

“Will someone come forward to bring this case to trial and justice?

“Once that’s done, we, as a family, can live in peace.”

Mrs Trigg, 60, added: “Give yourself up, walk into a police station or pick up the phone.

“The sooner you do it, the better.”
