The East Anglian Railway Museum is set to lead celebrations for the 175th anniversary of the Marks Tey to Sudbury railway line in June.
The railway line, known as the 'Gainsborough Line', will be celebrated on June 29 and 30.
The weekend will be filled with a plethora of attractions, including unlimited rides on steam and diesel trains.
Additional offerings include access to the Halstead & Braintree model railway club rooms, a mini railway and a vintage steam organ, shire horses, and a traction engine.
Refreshments will be available via an ice cream van as well as the museum’s Viaduct Pub being open.
A key highlight of the celebration is the exhibition of famed artist Wladyslaw Mirecki's 64 paintings of the area, each painting captures the beauty of the line's 32 arches from both east and west perspectives.
The series will be displayed in the Goods Shed, from June 15 to August 18, with standard entry charges inclusive of the exhibition viewing.
Note, however, that the paintings will not be available to view on July 6 and 7.
More information on the celebration weekend and other opening days can be found on the museum's website.
