MAGISTRATES have discontinued a case against a man who was accused of destroying a resident’s parking lines.

Assad Salah denied one count of criminal damage after being accused of destroying parking lines belonging to Russell Horton.

Appearing before magistrates in Colchester on Wednesday, Salah, 36, was told the case had been discontinued.

Chair of the bench Kati Greenwood said: “The matter has been formally discontinued by the crown.”

Salah, of Brook Road, Great Tey, will be compensated for travel and parking costs.

Ms Greenwood added: “Thank you for coming today – that’s now been resolved.”
