A MOTHER is hoping to help families create "beautiful memories" which they can "cherish and love" by opening her own photography studio.

Newborn and family photographer Gemma Louise England, 40, is launching her own studio at Crate Tiptree, in Tower Business Park, in Kelvedon Road.

The grand opening of the studio is on Saturday, January 20, between 10am and 4pm.

She is inviting locals and visitors alike to pop by to check out the new studio, including families, pregnant couples and grandparents.

All visitors will be given a £15 voucher to use for any photoshoot and anyone who books a photoshoot on the day will get 20 digital images included with their photoshoot.

The new studio is next to the Coffee Crate coffee shop and the REco shop.

It will be the latest business to open its doors at the popular small business park, following the opening of Mr O Removals and Sage Green Estate Agents.

Gemma, who first started her business in 2009, but has never had her own studio, focuses on being “affordable", offering digital packages "with no intensive aftersales”.

She has experience photographing all ages from babies and toddlers to children and teenagers, and also offers unique photo packages including cake smashes and birthday bubble photo shoots.

The mum of two studied photography at university in 2006 and started her business after graduating.

In 2019, Gemma, her husband and their daughters took a break to travel around the USA, New Zealand and Thailand.

She has come a long way with her business since then and even soldiered on during the pandemic.

She said: “I supported parents in photographing their own babies during the coronavirus by hiring out blankets, flowers and hats, and giving them step-by-step guidelines on lighting.

“Coronavirus made photographing newborn babies difficult and was one of the many small businesses that struggled during that time.”

She now hopes to be able to create “beautiful memories for families to cherish and love forever.”

She said: “All my long-term customers are really excited about the new studio announcement, getting lots of emails of congratulations.

“Now I am ready to open my own studio and I’m very excited. I can't wait to meet lots of new families.”

A competition is underway on her Facebook page where entrants can have the chance of winning a free photoshoot.
