Horses have been banned from the Clacton carnival parade amid health and safety fears.
The ban has been issued to Foot's Farm Riding School, in Thorpe Road, Clacton.
Carnival organisers feared an accident could happen if horses were not properly controlled at the annual event.
Some of the horses are controlled by children in the parade, which takes place on August 9.
Carnival organisers said there had been concerns over the parading horses in the past, although there had never been any accidents.
