The body count at a burial ground is up to 33, following excavations preparing for new homes.
Bones belonging to about 12 bodies had been found at the former Bayer site, in Halstead, last week, but this week that number has more than doubled, as careful investigations are under way.
The site is a former Quaker burial ground, and the bones are thought to be more than 100 years old.
