SCHOOLS could close and vital services could face an "enormous impact" during two days of strikes planned for next month, union bosses have warned.
Teaching assistants, cooks, cleaners, social workers and other staff at Essex County Council could walk out after members of public sector union Unison voted by 55 per cent to 45 per cent for a programme of sustained action this summer.
They rejected the Government's 2.45 per cent pay offer and plan to strike on July 16 and 17. Unison members at Tendring Council were also part of the national agreement.
