THE parents of a motorcyclist who died in a road accident paid tribute to their sporting son who they said "lived life to the full".

Niall Cutts, of Hobbs Drive, Boxted, was killed after his Suzuki motorcycle was involved in a collision with a silver Toyota Corolla car in Walton Road, Walton, at 5.45pm on Sunday.

The 36-year-old was born and grew up in Colchester.

He was a pupil at Boxted Primary School, before moving on to St Helena School, Colchester, and later to the Sixth Form College, also in the town.

Mr Cutts started work at the Cheltenham and Gloucester Building Society, before transferring after a year to work as an administrator at the Colchester Co-operative Society, now known as the East of England Co-op.

In the past year, he had been working in the Ipswich branch in a managerial position.

Mr Cutts' parents said their son had a keen interest in auto-grass racing and was a member of Concord Essex in Danbury.

He had a number of successes in the sport during his nine years as a competitor, and the trophies displayed in his parents' house are testament to his success.

He played both squash and badminton at Earls Colne Recreation Club and also loved skiing, snowboarding and golf.

His father, Brian, and mother, Olive, said: "We couldn't have had a better son. He was very caring and loving. He did a lot in his short life.

"Although he has gone at an early age, he lived his life to the full."

Anyone with information in connection with the accident is urged to call investigating officers at Stanway Road Policing Unit on 01206 762512.
