CLACTON'S fountain had to be turned off after it was sabotaged with a bottle of bubble bath.
Foam spouted from the £137,000 water feature and covered the town square and part of Pier Avenue.
Bosses had to turn it off on Sunday to get half of the water pumped out and the rest treated with chemicals. It was back on yesterday at about 1.30pm.
A 15-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of criminal damage has been bailed until July 12.
A spokesman for Tendring Council said: "We had to turn the fountain off shortly before the normal 7pm turn-off time because there was quite a lot of foam.
"A costing exercise is under way.
"We got a good image of a suspect on CCTV, and we will support the police if they decide to prosecute."
