A MAN who crashed into a car head on after losing control during an overtake has been handed nine penalty points.
Oliver Anthony, 21, admitted driving without due care and attention after the incident in Heybridge in October last year when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard Anthony carried out an overtake in his Volkswagen Golf before losing control and hitting an oncoming vehicle head on.
It caused substantial damage to both vehicles and injury to the other driver.
Anthony, of Hering Driver, Heybridge, was handed nine penalty points and fined £590.
He was also ordered to pay a £59 victim services charge and £110 costs.
