Hundreds of Scouts are to parade on Sunday in honour of England's patron saint.
Colchester Scouting Association will celebrate St George's Day.
The parade takes place through the town centre from 2.15pm, led by the Scout band.
Mayor Ray Gamble will take the salute outside the town hall, accompanied by Colchester MP Bob Russell and the Scout district commissioners, Stuart Gibson and Melvin Tarman.
There will be a civil service in Castle Park, where Scouts will renew their promise.
The parade always takes place the first Sunday after St George's Day.
