Trains were prevented from leaving Colchester North Station for about half an hour following a problem on the line into London Liverpool Street.
A spokesman for National Express East Anglia said a fatality at Romford about 11.20am yesterday meant trains did not leave Colchester for just over 30 minutes.
But, she said, around noon services were on the move again but were not stopping at Romford.
- Motorists were caught in hold ups for more than an hour after a collision at about 3.30pm on the A120 near Great Bromley yesterday.
