Police are asking the public to help find a missing pensioner.
Noel Webber, from Aldham, has high blood pressure, diabetes and suffers from slight dementia.
Relatives tried to contact the 76-year-old at about 6pm, but have been unable to get hold of him.
Mr Webber, known as "John", regularly rides a blue bicycle from Aldham to the Tollgate area of Stanway.
He is described as white, about 5ft 4ins tall and slim build. He has a "shock" of white hair, which has recently been cut, and a white moustache.
It is likely that he is wearing a dark blue puffy jacket, a black hat and jeans.
Officers from Colchester police, with help from the Essex Police helicopter, are searching Aldham, Stanway and the surrounding areas.
A spokesman said: "We are concerned for the welfare of this gentleman, and are asking for the public's help in trying to locate him."
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Colchester police on 0300 333 4444, and ask for the duty Sergeant.
