PARKING problems near one of Tendring's busiest beaches could finally be solved.
Highways bosses will propose introducing yellow lines in parts of Clacton's Martello Bay estate.
Long-suffering residents are faced with cars double parking outside their homes in the summer.
It gets so congested fire engines are unable to access the busiest roads.
Essex County Council says single yellow lines in Hastings Avenue, Deal Close and Selsey Avenue are the answer.
Campaigners have vowed to keep lobbying the authority until it takes action.
Marian Hills, of Selsey Avenue, said: "They have been saying it for the last ten years, so I'll believe it when I see it.
"These are not wide roads and you can only park on one side safely. It is a nightmare during the holidays and weekends.
"I don't mind people parking outside my house as long as they park considerately and observe the highway code.
"It will be good news when it is finally done."
Mrs Hills said cheaper parking at the Tendring Council-run car park in West Road, Clacton, would also lessen the pressure on the streets.
Essex County Council revealed highways officers have observed on-street parking in the estate for the last three summers.
In a letter to district and county councillor Roy Smith, they said congestion and road safety will be tackled by adding additional waiting restrictions in Hastings Avenue, Deal Close and Selsey Avenue.
