A woman has died after her 4x4 car was in a collision with a lorry on a country road.
The driver was on Hudson's Hill, Wethersfield, yesterday when her black Ford Maverick car was in a collision with a lorry carrying telegraph poles.
She was travelling in the Wethersfield direction and the lorry was headed towards Sible Hedingham, the opposite way.
Police closed the road just after the accident at around 12.30pm while vehicles are cleared.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "The woman driver of the Ford was taken to Broomfield Hospital and died shortly after arrival.
"The driver and passenger in the lorry did not need treatment."
Police appealed for any witnesses to the accident to call Bocking Traffic police on 01376 330722.
