Drivers faced delays when lanes were blocked by a four-vehicle collision and a broken down lorry.
Just before 8am yesterday fire crews were called to a collision on the A12 London-bound carriageway. between junction 21 Hatfield Road, Witham South, and Hatfield Peverel.
Just before 8.20am, a broken-down lorry blocked one of two lanes on the A12 London-bound carriageway. between junction 22, Witham North, and junction 21, Hatfield Road, Witham South.
On police arrival, the lorry had been driven away.
A blue Volkswagen Passat car, a white Ford Panel van, a black Nissan X-Trail car and a silver Toyota Yaris car were involved in the collision.
