Emergency services are warning people to be on their guard after items of a firefighter's uniform were snatched.
Three black and one burgundy T-shirt featuring the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service logo and a black pair of cargo trousers were taken from a Dovercourt firefighter.
He reported the items missing to police after he discovered a black and grey rucksack had been taken from his car between 3pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday.
He said: "I am concerned about the uniform falling into the wrong person's hands. They are quite desirable things for some people, and they could be used to impersonate a firefighter."
