A campaigning councillor is urging highways bosses to reduce the speed limit on a "dangerous" stretch of road.
Lynda McWilliams, Tendring councillor for Great Bentley, has appealed to Essex County Council to change the regulations on the B1027 between St Osyth and Thorrington.
Last month, 50-year-old Teresa Johnson from Clacton died after a crash on the Hollybush Hill stretch.
Mrs McWilliams says she would like to see a speed limit reduction from 40mph to 30mph between there and nearby Flag Hill.
She said the matter was brought to her attention by Great Bentley police community support officer, Sally Boyden.
A spokesman for Essex County Council said: "We are currently investigating the stretch of road with a view to seeing if safety can be improved there."
