THE RED Arrows will be back flying high above north Essex this summer, it was confirmed today.

The world famous aerobatic flying team will be headlining Clacton's 17th annual air show in August.

The magnificent men and their flying machines never fail to amaze the 90,000 spectators with their breathtaking manoeuvres.

The nine Hawk jets weave their magic in the skies leaving red trails and drawing gasps from the onlookers who line the seafront.

The two day air show, the biggest crowd puller in Clacton's summer calendar, starts on Thursday August 21 and as yet it has yet to be confirmed if the boys in red will be flying on one or both days.

Nigel Brown Tendring District Council's Communication manager, said the council was delighted that the Red Arrows have confirmed they want to come to the Clacton Air Show again.

"At the moment we are still working out with them which day, or days, they will be flying at Clacton - and it will very much be dependent on the times they are available on August 21 and 22 " he said.
