ANTI-STANSTED expansion protesters have vowed to continue their fight following the submission of the planning application for a second runway.
Placard-waving Stop Stansted Expansion members met at a nearby pub the Three Horse Shoes and held a protest after yesterday's launch of the plan.
They declared airline operator BAA's plans for another runway at Stansted Airport as "tantamount to a declaration of war on the local community and global environment."
Peter Sanders, SSE campaign chairman, said: "The application must serve as a rallying call not just for local people who seek to safeguard this unspoilt area of the countryside but for all those who care about our legacy to future generations."
Carole Barbone, SEE campaign director, said there were "no great surprises" in the proposals, which would have a "devastating impact."
