An action plan to improve life for residents in the two most deprived wards in Essex was unveiled today.
Neighbourhood bosses have set out how they will tackle poor health, low income and high crime in Pier ward, Clacton, and Golf Green ward, Jaywick.
The Brooklands and Grasslands estate, in Jaywick, and the area around Clacton Pier are ranked the first and second most deprived areas in Essex in terms of employment, health and income.
More than 20 key targets have been listed in the life-enhancing strategy.
Priorities include a health centre in the Pier ward, a community forum for the town centre and more services based in Jaywick.
The Interaction Partnership, set up by Tendring Council to spend a £3.7 million Government grant in the two areas in 2006, will use the remaining £700,000 to put the plan into action.
It needs to prove what it has put in place is a success by 2010.
