A TAXI driver is raising money for a cardiac screening of young people in Harwich, after his 28-year-old brother died from an undetected heart condition.
Adrian Armstrong, 29, said he was determined to do something special in his brother Marcus' memory to raise funds and awareness to try and prevent such a tragedy happening to anyone else.
To raise the funds needed, he has put his football career on hold to raise £5,000 by taking part in the London Marathon.
He said: "We lost Marcus in May 2006, which was when we first heard about Cry (Cardiac Risk in the Young).
"This charity helped me and my family get through what I can only describe as the worst time of my life.
"We thought we would like to give back something in Marcus' memory, so we decided to set up a memorial fund.
"All monies donated will go to this fund, and in turn we would like to set up a local screening for children over the age of 14.
"The more we raise the more children we can have screened."
