FIREFIGHTERS are tonight battling a blaze in a scrapyard.
An area of about ten metres squared is alight in the Hythe area of Colchester.
The alarm was raised just after 9pm.
Four crews - two from Colchester, one from Wivenhoe and another from Mersea - have been sent to the site in Haven Road.
They are having to use foam to tackle the flames because of the type of materials in the yard.
