ROSETTES and certificates were the glimmer in every owner's eyes - but only a few were lucky enough to receive such an honour.

Crufts is an annual dog show, for which dogs have to qualify to enter - it runs over four days until the best dog in the entire show is chosen.

And of those lucky few Crufts winners were a hungarian puli from Colchester and a rottweiler from Braintree.

Lesley Cook, of Wesley Avenue, Colchester, celebrated a double success on Saturday with her hungarian puli and his son.

Sally Benstead, of Lyons Hall Road, Braintree, said she was ecstatic when her female rottweiler, Bronte, won best bitch in the limit class on Saturday.

Tina May, of Main Road, Harwich, also drove the three hour journey to what is known as the biggest dog show in the world.

And although her two rough collie's did not win their classes, she said she is hooked on dog showing and hopes for more success this year.
