Seven tenants who had to flee from a Colchester block of flats after an arsonist started a fire are set to return home today.
The residents of Meopham Court, off Stalin Road, Barn Hall, were woken by a loud bang in the early hours of Saturday morning after a fire was started in a storage container in a communal hallway.
Firefighters managed to stop the blaze spreading to the flats, but some of them suffered severe smoke damage.
Staff at Colchester Borough Homes, which manages the stock, have spent the last few days replacing doors, carrying out decoration, cleaning, fixing the lighting and other tasks.
