Congratulations Harwich - you did it.
The Electric Palace cinema is saved.
The appeal to raise £15,000 in one year for vital construction work on the iconic building has not only been reached, it has been smashed.
By the time the appeal officially closes next week the final tally could top £20,000.
The good news does not end there, as the Harwich Electric Palace Trust was awarded a grant of £50,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
With the money in the bank - work on one of Britain's oldest working cinemas could start in January. As soon as the news broke, Clive Owen, movie star and patron of the trust said he was thrilled and excited that the money had been raised and the Heritage Lottery Fund had recognised the significance of the Electric Palace.
